Creator of THE LATEST news podcast (available on Spotify). This is a current affairs and news podcast for which I am responsible for contacting potential guests as well as producing, editing then marketing the finished episode.
Responsible for sourcing, liasing and booking guests including MPs Jess Phillips, Michael Fabricant and Hilary Benn, high profile personalities such as Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards, and people who can offer insight into global stories such as my interview with the cousin of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe the week following her return to the UK
Co-managing a team of 16, overseeing daily news readings and news shows and responsible for organizing coverage of major news events.
Creator of our news Instagram page @newslsr, a resource for students to stay up to date with the latest headlines.

Sub-editor for University Newspaper

The Gryphon / June 2021-June 2022

I worked successfully in a team of four sub-editors for the Views Section of Leeds University newspaper The Gryphon.
Involved curating weekly content lists to be distributed to our team of writers.
Edited finished articles to ensure they meet the standard of the Newspaper, utilising my skills in writing.

Station Manager

Leeds Student Radio / August 2022-Present

Responsible for overseeing the day to day operation of the second best student radio station in the country
As the sole paid member of Leeds Student Radio, working with volunteers, much of this role relies on my own initiative to drive change and progress. Such progress can be seen through our uptick in membership numbers and installation of updated equipment.
Developed keen problem solving skills and excellent judgement to continue driving Leeds Student Radio in a positive direction, protecting the strong reputation we have built
I manage a cohort of 300 members, and directly manage a team of 19 committee members
Created and launched a mentorship scheme to connect members with industry professionals. Liaising with journalists, presenters and industry professionals to forge new relationships and recruit them into the scheme.
Constantly workshopping creative new ideas to engage audiences for example treasure hunts around campus, engaging coverage of University Varsity sports events,
Market and promote our station across multiple channels which led to our highest membership uptake in recent years.

Co-Founder of Girls Night In Leeds

Co-founded the Leeds division of the national anti-spiking campaign
Garnered national media attention including from Lorraine, ITV, BBC, Global, LBC as well as from French media outlet Brut.
Working in collaboration with UN Women UK to deliver a workshop on prevention of spiking.
Within a month our Instagram page @girlsnightinleeds_ has reached over 50K accounts.
Organised a boycott of all pubs and clubs in protest to the rise in spiking.
Contributor to Safe Nightlife summit organised by Mayor of West Yorkshire Tracy Brabin and MP Alex Sobel.
Met with MP Jess Phillips to discuss further action.
Part of ongoing political mobilisation to bring issue to attention of government.
